At Missouri State: Seth Johnson shared the title of Swimmer of the Meet with teammates Matt Beasley and Eduardo Pajares for the 2005 Delta State Invitational. He scored gold medals in the 100 breast and 200 breast along with a third-place finish in the 400 IM at the meet. At the 2006 MVC Championship, Johnson finished second in the 100 and 200 breast. He was the second leg of the championship 400 medley relay. Johnson currently holds the MSU varsity record in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.24) that he set at the 2005 Valley Championship. 2004-05: Johnson set a new MVC Invitational record in the 200 breaststroke with his first place time of 2:00.24. He also brought home a second-place finish in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:02.76 and a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.76. He was awarded all conference honors. 2003-04: Seth Johnson had three top 10 finishes at the MVC Invitational as a freshman. Johnson took first in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.79). He also claimed fourth in the 100 breaststroke and 10th in the 400 individual medley, earning him a spot on the all-conference first team. Background: Johnson only swam at Edwardsville High two seasons but earned all-state honors both years. As a senior, Johnson took seventh in the 100 breaststroke at the state meet. In the summer of 2002, Johnson won the 200 breaststroke at the 2002 Region VIII Speedo sectional meet and went on to the U.S. Summer National Championships on a relay.
