2012-13: Helped lead the Bears to their highest finish at a MAC Championship as a captain of the men's team...Recipient of the MSU Jack Steck Inspirational Award...In Carbondale, won the 400 IM consolation final (3:57.32), a time that would have placed fifth in the A-Final...Finished 11th in the 200 back (1:48.98) and nearly dropped four seconds from his top time...Also placed 13th in the 200 IM on Day 1 of the conference meet...Placed top-16 in the 1650 free (12th), 400 IM (12th) and 200 IM (15th) at the Purdue Invitational...Finished the season as the Bears' top 400 IM swimmer and was among the top-five in five other events, including the 1000 free (4th), 1650 free (4th), 100 back (5th), 200 back (4th), 200 IM (5th)...Landed a spot on the Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention team.

2011-12: Finished 12th in the consolation final of the 200 IM at the 2012 MAC Championships; His prelims time of 1:51.15 was a lifetime best...Was one of six swimmers to break 4 minutes (3:57.71) in the 400 IM at conference; Placed sixth overall...Placed just outside the top 10 in the 1650 free timed final at the MAC Championships; Finished 11th overall (16:05.93)...During the dual-meet season, he registered wins in the 200 IM vs. Drury, 400 IM vs. Lindenwood, 1000 free vs. Truman State, 1650 free at Lindenwood and 200 breast vs. William Jewell...Garnered MAC Swimmer of the Week honors on November 9...Named to the Academic All-MAC first team for his efforts in the pool and classroom...Finished on the season's top times list in seven events including the 1000 free (3rd), 1650 free (4th), 200 back (5th), 100 breast (5th), 200 breast (4th), 200 IM (3rd) and 400 IM (2nd).

2010-11: Won the 200 IM consolation final at the 2011 MAC Championships; His 1:51.65 in the B-Final would have been good for fifth in the championship final...Out-touched Miami's Brendan Melling for a silver medal in the 400 IM...Teamed up with Jared Roberts to take two of the top three spots in the 1650 free at the conference championships; Finished third (15:45.18).

2009-10: Arrived in January and cracked the season top-three in five different events as a freshman: 1000 free (9:41.13, 2nd), 200 back (1:52.98, 3rd), 200 IM (1:53.12, 2nd), 400 IM (3:57.29, 2nd) and 1650 free (15:40.99, 1st); He recorded second-fastest time in the mile at the 2010 MAC Championships.

Background: A two-time National Junior record holder in the 200-meter breaststroke...While swimming for Pietersburg High, he racked up several honors, including finalist for the Limpopo Province Swimmer of the Year...He is a five-time provincial winner and set school records in the 100-meter back, 100-meter breast and 200-meter IM...In international competition, he placed fourth in the 400-meter IM at the FINA/Arena World Cup...Was also a finalist in the 400-meter IM at the South Africa Olympic Trials in 2008.
