Background Springer competed for Millard West High School and Millard Aquatic Club under head coach Tracy Stauffer. As a senior, he earned NISCA All-American honors after being crowned state champion in the 100 breast. The breaststroke specialist moved up to No. 4 on Nebraska's All-Time Top 10 list in the 100 breast with his prelims time (56.92) at the 2012 State Swimming & Diving Championships. He finished his high school career with a new pool, school, and Metro Conference record in the 100 breast. Springer followed up his championship performance with bronze medals in the 100 and 200 breast at the 2012 Region VIII Spring Sectionals championship meet in Jenks, Okla. During his sophomore and junior year campaigns, he placed top-six at the state meet in the 100 breast and as a member of the 200 medley relay. The four-time athletic and academic letterman at Millard West was recognized on the All-Metro and All-Conference teams in 2011 and 2012. In addition, he was named to the Metro Conference All-Academic team four years in-a-row. He chose Missouri State over Alabama, Minnesota and Pittsburgh. Springer was listed as the third-best recruit in the state of Nebraska for CollegeSwimming.com's 2012 recruiting rankings.

Personal: Isaac Charles Springer is the son of Chris and DeAnn Springer. He was born April 13, 1993 in Omaha, Neb. and has two brothers: Jacob and Nathan.
