Junior Colin Hill recaps weekend victories and his first MAC Swimmer of the Week award
MSU Athletics Director's Honor Roll - Spring 2011
2011-12: Swam a career best in the 400 IM (4:01.70) at the 2012 MAC Championships and finished 10th overall...Registered another career best in the 100 breast (58.18), placing 15th out of 23 competitors...Made the championship finals heat of the 200 breast for the first time in his career; Was the Bears' top swimmer in the event, placing seventh overall with a time of 2:01.88...During the dual meet season, he won the 200 breast on four different occasions...Also placed first in the 200 IM at Truman State...Finished the season as MSU's top 200 breaststroker in 2012; Was also among the top five MSU swimmers in the 100 breast (2nd), 200 fly (5th) and 400 IM (3rd).
2010-11: Placed top-16 in each of his individual events at the 2011 MAC Championships...Recorded a personal best in the 200 IM (1:54.34) on the first day and finished 14th...His best finish of the conference championships came on the second day when he notched a career best in the 400 IM (4:02.65) and was the top finisher in the B-Final (9th)...On the final day, he placed 14th in the 200 breast (2:08.21).
Background: Attended Liberty (Mo.) High School and swam all four years for the Blue Jays...Was conference champion in the 200 free and 100 breast as a senior; Finished fourth at state in the 200 free...Won the conference title in the 200 and 500 free his junior season; Finished fifth at state in the 200 free...Holds the Liberty High record in the 500 free, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay...Holds the conference record in the 200 free.
