2012-13: Named All-MVC Honorable Mention as a freshman...Placed top 8 in all three individual events in her first MVC Championship meet...Notched 13 points for the Bears in the 200 IM with a sixth-place finish (2:07.08); Swam a season-best in prelims (2:06.03)...Placed fifth overall in the 100-yard backstroke (57.44) and was one of four Bears in the top five; recorded a personal best in prelims (57.21)...Helped Missouri State take three of the top four spots in the 200 back; finished fourth with a career best 2:03.75...Made the C-Final in the 200 back at both the Purdue Invitational and the Incarnate Word Christmas Invitational...Finished the season among the Bears' top-five swimmers in the 100 back (4th), 200 back (3rd) and 200 IM (2nd).
Background: Four-year letterwinner at Wichita Southeast High School and swam for one of the top club teams in the Midwest, Wichita Swim Club...Was one of nine swimmers to represent WSC at the 2012 NCSA Junior National Championships in Orlando, Fla...Left her mark on the Wichita Southeast swimming program with school records in eight events including relays...As a junior in 2011, she picked up All-State honors in Kansas for the second consecutive year, placing third in both the 200 IM and 100 back...Her sophomore year, she registered fifth-place finishes in the 200 free and 100 back at the 6A state meet...A seven-time individual champion at Wichita's City League Championships...Earned a spot on the All-City team all four years...Chesser's cousin, Geoff Stanford, is a current member of the Missouri State football team.
