At Missouri State: Buell stepped up as a junior and will look to close out her MSU career with another solid showing at the MVC Championships.
2010-11: One of Buell's top performances of her career came at the MVC Championships when she was one of four Bears to qualify for the A-Final in the 200 back. She dropped 1.66 seconds from her prelims time to finish sixth and earn 13 points. Buell qualified for the B-Final in the 100 fly (59.24) and 100 back (59.48), while also setting personal bests in each of the events. The Wentzville, Mo. native finished 13th in 100 fly and notched a 10th-place finish in the 100 back. Buell was named to the All-MVC honorable mention team and was a 2010-11 MVC Scholar-Athlete.
2009-10: Buell cracked the season top-five for the first time in her career. Her times in the 100 back (1:00.27) and the 200 back (2:10.55) in the MVC Championships ranked fifth and fourth, respectively, on the season. As a sophomore, Buell set new personal bests in every event except the 100 free.
2008-09: Buell swam in two meets for MSU as a freshman, competing in both the 100 back (1:01.79), as well as the 50 free (26.30).
Background: Buell came to Missouri State as a four-year state finalist for Holt High School in Wentzville, Mo. As a freshman, she was a member of the conference-champion 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay squads. Her sophomore year, she led Holt to a Gateway Athletic Conference title and was named team captain. As a junior, Buell set the school record in the 100 free and was a member of the 400 free relay that set a conference record. In her final prep year, she helped lead Holt High to an undefeated season and another conference championship.
Personal: Brynne Buell is the daughter of Pearson and Lisa Buell. She was born on September 24, 1990 in Lake St. Louis, Mo. She has one brother, Josh. She is majoring in public relations.
