At Missouri State:
Bentz is one of the few returning sprint freestylers and has been a member of each conference team since his arrival. The senior's experience and leadership will play a big role in the Bears' quest for the Mid-American Conference championship.

2010-11: Bentz was a key contributor in relays at the 2011 MAC Championships swimming in four of the five relays. He anchored the fourth-place 400 medley relay with a split of 44.99 and anchored the fourth-place 200 medley relay with a split of 20.10. Individually, Bentz posted a career best in the preliminary heat of the 50 free (20.56) and was the only Missouri State finisher to secure a spot in the championship finals (6th). He was also the lone MSU representative in the 100 free, placing 15th in the B-Final (46.23). Bentz finished the season with the MSU's second fastest times in the 50 and 100 free.

2009-10: Bentz continued to improve in his sophomore campaign, setting personal bests in the 50 free (20.96) and 100 free (45.82) during Missouri State's first run in the MAC Championships. He finished the 2009-10 season with the second-best 50 free time and third-best 100 free time. Bentz was a member of the 200 free relay that earned a gold medal at the 2010 MAC Championships.

2008-09: Set personal bests in the 100 free (45.95) and the 100 fly (51.76) at the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Championships.

Background: Jeffrey Bentz comes to Missouri State after four years of swimming with Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, Kan. Bentz was selected as an All-American Swimmer in the 50 freestyle by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America his final year with the Raiders. His senior year, he was an all-state, all-conference, all-metro, all-Johnson County and all-Sun County honoree. He placed second in state competition in the 50 free with a time of 21.46. Bentz was a junior national qualifier and was named team captain as a senior.

Personal: Jeffrey Michael Bentz is the son of Gregory and Nancy Bentz. He was born on June 4, 1990 in Overland Park, Kan. He is majoring in general business.
