At Missouri State: Cara Belcher enters her final year with the Bears this season. She will be part of the strong group of senior swimmers for Missouri State. 2007-08: As a junior, Belcher continued to compete in freestyle events for the Bears. At the Valley meet she had her top finish in the 200 free, placing 19th in the event. She posted a career best time of 2:00.51 in the event during the prelims of the conference meet. 2006-07: Belcher finished seventh at the Mizzou Dual in the 100 fly, swimming her best time of the season. She also competed in sprint freestyle events for the Bears at the Valley meet and was named to the MSU Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year. 2005-06: As a freshman, Belcher traveled with the Bears' women to the conference meet. She competed in the 100, 200 and 500 free. Belcher was honored for her performance in the classroom as she was listed on the MSU Honor Roll. Background: Belcher joined the Bears after leading Park Hill South High School to four conference championships. Belcher finished first in conference in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle her senior year. Belcher was a four-time all-conference pick and a two-time honorable mention all-state pick.
