MSU Athletics Director's Honor Roll - Spring 2013
2012-13: Took more than three seconds off her previous best in the 200 IM with a 2:12.38 in the 200 IM C-Finals at the 2013 MVC Championships...Won the 100 breast C-Final on Day 2 of the MVC Championships with a time of 1:07.20; time would have placed 14th overall...Cruised to a C-Final win in the 200 breast, defeating the field by more than 10 seconds; posted a career best in finals (2:24.94)...Split 1:08.46 in the 100 breast on the Bears' 400 "B" medley relay at conference; also swam the breaststroke leg (30.94) on MSU's 200 medley B-Relay...Made the 100 and 200 breast C-Final at the Purdue Invitational in November...Finished the season among the Bears' top-five swimmers in the 100 breast (5th) and 200 breast (5th).
Background: Coached by Shelly Greenwood at Arkansas Baptist High School...Swam club for Matt Adams on the Dolphin-Laser Swim Team...As a senior, she qualified for the Arkansas State High School Championship in five individual events, placing fourth in the 200 IM and fifth in the 100 breast...Prior to the state meet, Burroughs was named to the All-Region team after winning the 100 fly and 200 IM at the All-Region meet...She qualified for the 2012 Region VIII Spring Sectionals meet for the first time and made the C-Final in the 200 breast...Named a National Scholar-Athlete two years in a row and garnered All-State honors in the 100 fly and 200 IM in 2011...Co-captain of the Arkansas Baptist swim team during her first three years and was the captain as a senior...Chose Missouri State over UALR and Drury.
Personal: Andi Burroughs is the daughter of Marshall and Mickey Burroughs...Born July 19, 1994 in Little Rock, Ark...Plans to major in chemistry at Missouri State, followed by a career in pharmacology.
