At Missouri State: After a sensational freshman campaign, Green enters her sophomore season as the woman to beat in the sprint freestyle events...2009-10: Green joined the Bears in January and contributed right away. In just her third collegiate meet (MVC Championship), Green turned in a time of 23.23 in the 50-yard freestyle, the second-best time in school history; 50.96 in the 100 yard freestyle, also second-best all-time and 57.56 in the 100-yard backstroke, fourth-best all-time. In addition to her individual successes, Green was the anchor in both of the medley relay teams that won first
place in the conference meet...Background: Green is a former state champion in both Missouri and Illinois.She is a four-time high school all-American and last year, set the Missouri high school record in both the 50-yard freestyle (23.24) and 100-yard freestyle (50.23). Green also competed in the Junior National Meet in the Short Course (25 yards) and finished fourth overall in the 100-yard freestyle. Personal: Amber Renee Green was born on August 7, 1991 to Neal and Charlene Green. She has two sisters, Katie and Alissa. Green is a Mass Communication major and plans to work in advertising.
