Newly-branded Missouri State Athletics marketing group now operating under Learfield
Frank Cuervo begins his second year at Missouri State after being named the general manager for marketing and corporate partnerships for Missouri State Sports Marketing, a division of Nelligan Sports Marketing, in February 2012. Cuervo leads the department's marketing and sponsorship sales efforts, with a focus on developing strong partnerships between MSU Athletics and local, regional and national businesses.
Prior to his appointment with NSM, Cuervo spent nearly two years as the senior associate athletics director for external affairs at Southeast Missouri State. Cuervo joined the Redhawks administrative staff after serving as general manager and assistant vice president for ISP Sports, working with the Northern Illinois University Sports Network.
Previously, he completed a three-year tenure as assistant director of athletics for external operations at Indiana, where he managed the department's marketing, ticketing and media relations efforts. From 2001-06, Cuervo spent six years at the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he served as director of marketing and assistant athletics director for external operations. He began his career in Division I athletics as a marketing coordinator at Ohio State in 1999, before moving on to Bowling Green State as assistant A.D. for marketing and sales.
Cuervo is graduated from University of Florida in 1997 with a bachelor's degree inmarketing and public relations and a minor in finance and later earned a master's degree in Sport Management from The Ohio State University. Cuervo, his wife, Michelle, and newborn son Nathan, reside in Springfield.
