Deb O'Neal begins her third year as MSU's assistant A.D. for business administration after joining the Bears' athletics staff in August 2012. In this role, O'Neal is responsible for all phases of the business operation for the athletic department, which includes development and management of the annual budget and the supervision of daily business operations. She also serves as administrator for women's soccer and softball. Prior to her appointment, O'Neal spent three years as a financial aid counselor on MSU's Springfield campus. In that capacity, she has worked with Director of Athletics Kyle Moats and the athletics staff monitoring student-athlete scholarships and grants, disbursing scholarship payments and stipends, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and Federal guidelines. O'Neal earned her bachelor of science in accounting from Missouri State in 2007 after competing four years on the MSU swimming and diving squad under head coach Jack Steck, serving as co-captain of the Bears' 2007 squad. O'Neal went on to earn her master's of accountancy from MSU in 2008, while serving as a graduate assistant in the University's Office of Financial Aid. She spent eight months working for BKD, LLP in Springfield as a tax accountant before returning to the University in October 2009. A native of Billings, Mo., O'Neal resides in Springfield and has four-year-old twins, Hattie and Drake.
