MSU Student-Athletes Help Bring Holiday Cheer

Dec. 3, 2011

SPRINGFIELD -- About 60 Missouri State student-athletes are taking time out of their busy schedules this holiday season to ring bells for the Salvation Army.

“Any time we can give back to the community, it’s a good thing for us and Springfield,” said Kyle Yates, assistant director of athletics for compliance. “We have multiple opportunities to contribute to charity throughout the year, so getting something like this lined up is good for the university.”

Student-athletes from men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s swimming, field hockey and women’s soccer have participated in the bell-ringing campaign this year at locations close to the Missouri State campus.

Missouri State student-athletes’ participation in the Salvation Army bell-ringing initiative, continues through Dec. 30 at the campus Dillion's and Bistro Market locations.
