Athlon Sports Sideline Spirt Contest Information

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Missouri State University Sugar Bear Kayla Kimminau has been selected as a contestant for Round 3 voting in the Athlon Sports Sideline Spirit Contest.

She will be competing against contestants from Florida State, Central Florida and TCU in Round 3, which begins Monday, Oct. 17 and runs through Saturday, Oct. 22.  Fans can cast their votes by texting the word SPIRIT to the number 67463.

Each fan will be limited to one vote per cell phone in each round. Every vote counts, and the winner of each round advances to the Athlon Sports Sideline Spirit Finals against the four other round winners.

The grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship, professional photo and video shoot in preparation for her feature in the 2012 Athlon Sports College Football Pre-Season Magazine, and a $2,000 cash prize for the her school's spirit program.

Kimminau, a senior from Washington, Mo., has been a member of the Sugar Bears for four seasons. She is the first-ever MSU representative in the Athlon Sports Sideline Spirit Contest, which began in 2002, and was nominated by her teammates to represent the Sugar Bears and Missouri State.
