Learfield Develops Missouri State Sports Properties

July 1, 2014

SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State University Athletics, in conjunction with Learfield Sports, has developed Missouri State Sports Properties as its exclusive corporate sponsorship sales unit, as announced today (July 1) by Director of Athletics Kyle Moats.

The dedicated unit is designed to support MSU Athletics’ initiatives to enhance revenue and the services provided to local and regional businesses while promoting the Bears’ brand to the corporate community.

“We are excited about rebranding our marketing operation as Missouri State Sports Properties,” said Moats. “Learfield Sports is a trusted and innovative industry leader with an outstanding reputation. We look forward to everything that lies ahead.”

Frank Cuervo will serve as the general manager for Missouri State Sports Properties. He has served as general manager with Nelligan Sports Marketing in his first two years at MSU. Nelligan, which began operating on the Springfield campus in 2010, was acquired by Learfield in early February. Cuervo is joined by Sharry Olson, director of sales and marketing.

Missouri State Sports Properties manages all aspects of the Bears’ multimedia rights including venue signage, event sponsorships/marketing, corporate hospitality, radio and television game broadcasts and coaches’ shows.

“We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Missouri State and will strive to be terrific partners and representatives by providing exceptional service to the corporate community to enhance the growth of the university brand,” said Learfield President and CEO Greg Brown. “We’re excited to be off and running and look forward to building on the outstanding traditions already established here.”

In addition to its core business of nearly 100 collegiate multimedia rights properties which consist of institutional, conference and facility-level partnerships, Learfield Sports is involved with collegiate ticketing and concessions, and sponsors the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup. Its multimedia rights encompass numerous content distribution platforms to deliver college athletics to fans globally.
