Missouri State Reaches Licensing Agreement with CLC
ATLANTA -- The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG Worldwide, today announced it has reached an agreement with Missouri State University to manage the University’s trademark licensing program effective July 1.
“We believe CLC is the leader in the collegiate licensing industry, and we are confident that our partnership will help Missouri State continue to build interest among its alumni, students, and community members not only in Springfield, but throughout the state and region,” said Paul Kincaid, Missouri State’s Chief of Staff. “Missouri State should benefit from the relationships CLC has built as a result of representing most of the premier collegiate brands in the region. Those relationships are critical to our efforts to maximize the University’s presence with logo items.” “Missouri State is a fast rising brand with a rich tradition and tremendous potential well beyond Springfield,” said Brian White, CLC's Vice President of University Services. “The MSU program can be one of the largest and most successful licensing programs among institutions within the Football Championship Subdivision, and we are honored by the opportunity to partner with the University.” Missouri State will gain access to the leading brand protection, brand management, and brand development services that CLC currently provides to nearly 200 collegiate properties. Prior to joining CLC, the Missouri State licensing program has been managed internally by the University.
MSU joins Saint Louis University and the University of Missouri as the third institution in the State of Missouri to partner with CLC. CLC also represents fellow Missouri Valley Conference members Drake University, Indiana State University, and Southern Illinois University, along with regional institutions such as the University of Arkansas, University of Kansas, Kansas State University, University of Illinois, and University of Tulsa.
Missouri State currently sponsors 16 varsity sports and has been a member of the Missouri Valley Conference since 1990. The Bears also compete in the Mid-American Conference in field hockey, Sun Belt Conference in men’s swimming and diving, and the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
