The Missouri State women's golf team fired a final-round 296 Sunday (Oct. 18) to rally from seven strokes behind entering the final round and win the Hawkeye Intercollegiate in Iowa City, Iowa.  The Bears held the first-round lead after shooting 298 on Saturday, but stumbled in the second round with 320 before their Sunday comeback gave them their second tournament title of the season with a 914 total.  They also won the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield on Sept. 21-22.

Illinois finished second at 918, while 33rd-rated Iowa State took third at 924.  Kennesaw State was next in the 13-team field with 930, followed by Illinois State in sixth with 932, then Ball State at 945, Drake 946 and Washington State 948.  Northern Iowa was 10th with 965, Sacramento State at 966, South Dakota State 967 and Oakland 981.

Freshman Hermine Greyling paced the Bears in the final round with a one-over-par 73 at the 6053-yard Finkbine Golf Course.  Sophomore Catherine Dolan was a stroke behind with 74 as she and Greyling tied for fourth in the tournament with 227 totals.  Greyling shot 72-82-73 while Dolan carded 72-81-74.  Senior Stacey Rodger tied for 10th with 74-82-74--230, sophomore Kelsey Welber tied for 15th with 80-79-75--234 and freshman Heather Smith shot 83-78-83--244 and tied for 48th.  Freshman Emma Clegg, playing as an individual, posted 83-86-84--253 for 66th place.  Illinois State's Stacey Miller was medalist after shooting 77-73-74--224.

The Bears close out their fall season next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 26-27) at the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational in Fort Myers. Fla.
