  Chiles has established himself as one of the top punters at the FCS level and will anchor the Bears’ punting operations this season.

2009: Earned honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Football Conference and All-Academic honors after averaging 40.1 yards on 46 punts, which ranked fourth in the MVFC and 24th nationally … Had six punts of 50 yards or more and landed 13 inside the 20 … Banged a 75-yard punt in season finale at No. 1 Southern Illinois (11/14/09), a career long to earn MSU Special Teams Player of the Week honors … Averaged 43.2 yards on eight punts, including a 72-yarder, against Northern Iowa (9/26/09) to earn the team’s special teams POW honor … Had eight punts fair caught and one touchback in 2009 … Helped the Bears rank 29th nationally in net punting, the team’s highest statistical rank.

2008: Earned MVFC All-Newcomer Team distinction after posting a 37.9 punting average on 60 attempts as a true freshman ... Posted three punts over 50 yards and a 42.8 average on nine attempts at UNI (11/8/08) to earn MSU Player of the Week honors ... Booted season-long punt of 64 yards at UNI ... Averaged 43.3 yards on seven punts at Oklahoma State (9/13/08) to claim MSU Special Teams Player of the Week honors ... Posted a 62-yard punt at South Dakota State (11/1/08) ... Over the last five games, he pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line 11 times.

High School: Led team with 176 points as a senior for coach Rich Stewart at Hillsboro (Ill.) High, earning all-conference and honorable mention all-state honors ... Invited to Ill. Coaches Association All-Star Game ... Averaged 40.0 yards per punt in 2007 while making 12-of-17 field goals, with a long of 48 ... Lettered in baseball, basketball and soccer.
