The Missouri State men's golf team fired a season-low 286 in Tuesday's (Oct. 20) final round to move up three spots at the F&M Bank/APSU Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tenn.  The Bears finished the tournament at 300-291-286--877 to finish eighth of 17 teams in their final tournament of the fall season.

Junior Jack Courington led the way for MSU in the final round with a four-under-par 68, a career best, and tied for 18th place with teammate Will Hogan, both with 218 totals.  Courington shot 79-71-68 while Hogan carded 74-71-73.  Next for the Bears came Jordan McLaurin, who tied for 25th after shooting 72-75-72--219, while Jay McBride posted 76-74-73--223 to tie for 47th and Ryan Weinhaus tied for 76th with 78-76-77--231.  First-day leader Jakob Ziegler of Oakland shot 72-66-70--208 and held on for a one-stroke victory in the medalist race over Nyasha Mauchaza of Towson.

Eastern Kentucky rallied to claim the team championship, shooting 288-288-283--859 to overtake Towson, which recorded 292-283-287--862.  Oakland was third with 864, a stroke better than Western Illinois (865) and two better than Jacksonville State (866).  Host Austin Peay State (873) was sixth, followed by Murray State (875), the Bears, SIU-Edwardsville (881), Northern Illinois and Tennessee Tech (882), Eastern Illinois (883), Morehead State (887), Belmont (893), Tennessee State (896), UT Martin (897) and Lipscomb (938).

The Bears will open up their spring campaign Feb. 15-16 at the Rice/Srixon Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas.
