At Missouri State: Jessica Teahan will continue to improve her play as the starting keeper for the Bears. 2009: Teahan stepped into the starting role admirably, recording seven shutouts and a 0.86 goals against average, the third-best single season in both categories. For her stellar play, Teahan was named to the All-MVC first team and earned MVC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice (9/21 and 10/12). Teahan recorded three consecutive shutouts from Sept. 13-18, totaling nearly 426 minutes without allowing a goal, the longest streak by a Bear since 2006. Off the field, Teahan was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team. 2008: The first year letterwinner saw action in four matches, spelling Jackie Jasper in net. Teahan did not allow a goal in 79 minutes of action. 2007: Teahan redshirted her first season with Missouri State. Background: Teahan guarded the goal for the Kansas 5A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas in Overland Park, Kan., in 2007. The Saints finished 18-1 and were ranked fourth nationally in the NSCAA final poll. The state championship was the third-straight title for St. Thomas Aquinas. Teahan was named the Eastern Kansas League Goalie of the Year and was a first-team all-state, Kansas City All-Metro, all-region and all-conference selection following the season. As a junior, Teahan recorded 10 shutouts for the Saints. Teahan also played between the pipes for the nationally-ranked KC Dynamos club team and was on the Kansas state ODP Team. In 2006, Teahan was selected as a member of the Regional II Pool. Also an outstanding student,Teahan graduated summa cum laude, was a member of the National Honor Society and was a first-team academic all-state honoree. Personal: Teahan is the daughter of Vince and Sally Teahan and was born August 16, 1989. Her sister, Rachel, attended Missouri State. Teahan is an early childhood education major.
