The Missouri State women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Tulsa on Sunday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Bears fell to 4-5 on the season, while the Golden Hurricane moved to 2-5-1.

Tulsa’s Stephanie Johnson scored the lone goal in the first half of the contest at the 10:21 mark firing a shot from 12 yards past Missouri State’s goalkeeper Jackie Jasper. Johnson received a pass from midfielder Courtney Chadney where she buried the ball into the right corner of the net, scoring her first goal of the season.

The Bears had many scoring opportunities posting 13 shots, seven on goal but was unable to find the back of the net. Missouri State’s defense allowed the Golden Hurricane a combined total of six shots but could not establish an offensive attack of their own.

Jasper recorded three saves and Tulsa’s keeper Kendall Harclerode posted seven in the match.

Missouri State will be back at home on Friday, Sept. 28, at Plaster Field to host Oral Roberts University at 7:00 p.m.
