2009: Doyle emerged as the Bears’ third starter late in the season and finished the year 4-2 with a 4.12 over five starts and 16 appearances ... Made the move into the weekend rotation at Creighton (5/10) and threw a career-best eight innings of four-hit, one-run ball in a win ... Held Indiana State to a run over seven innings the next week (5/16), fanning six against no walks ... Struck out four and allowed one earned run against Nebraska (3/1) to earn a save ... Yielded one hit over three scoreless innings in a start against SEMO (3/18) ... Started and pitched 4.2 innings in MSU’s win over No. 17 Oklahoma State (4/8) ... Got the save with a perfect ninth inning at Arkansas State (4/14) ... Struck out five in four innings in a relief win against Wichita State (4/18) ... Struck out 40 batters in 48 innings ... Enters the 2010 season ranked ninth in MSU history with 57 career appearances ... Finished the summer with a 3-1 record and 3.18 ERA for the Sedalia Bombers of the MINK League.

2008: Doyle pitched in 16 games as a sophomore, finishing the year 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA … After allowing two runs in his first appearance of the year, Doyle put together six consecutive outings without an earned run from March 9 to April 1 for a total of 10 innings … Gave up just one hit in four innings at SEMO (3/26) … Earned his first win of the year against Evansville (4/13) with 4.1 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief … Also tossed a scoreless frame at Bradley (4/20) … Doyle had a 2.84 ERA over 38 innings for the Central Illinois Collegiate League’s Quincy Gems in the summer of 2008.

2007: Doyle made 25 appearances as a rookie, the second highest total in Missouri State history … Finished the year with 41 strikeouts in 44.2 innings to rank fifth on the team … Had a 1-4 record and 6.85 ERA … Allowed no earned runs in 13 of his appearances … Made the first start of his career at Arkansas-Little Rock (2/27) ... Tossed two scoreless frames to earn a win against UALR (3/13) ... Struck out four batters in just one inning versus Northern Iowa (3/24) ... Threw 2.2 scoreless innings of relief against No. 10 Wichita State (4/22) ... Retired all 13 batters he faced for 4.1 perfect innings of relief against Southern Illinois (4/27).

Background: Doyle earned all-conference honors his final three seasons at Oakville High in St. Louis, including a first-team nod as a senior after going 6-1 with a 1.03 ERA and 66 strikeouts … Was also named the conference pitcher of the year as a senior … Was 4-1 with a 1.89 ERA for the Tigers as a junior, and hit .600 with four homers and 19 RBIs as a sophomore … Oakville won the conference championship in each of his three seasons … Also played football and ice hockey in high school.
