2009: Started all 54 games for the Bears playing center field and batting leadoff ... Hit .291 with four homers and 29 RBIs ... Led the MVC with eight triples, the second-most in school history, and ranked second with 58 runs scored ... Ended the season on a 14-game hit streak and scored a run in the final 13 contests ... Drew 40 walks to tie Ryan Howard for seventh in MSU history ... Stole 18 bases in 20 tries and had a .419 on-base percentage ... Ranked second in the MVC in walks and fifth in steals ... Logged 13 multi-hit games, including seven three-hit efforts ... Went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored at Middle Tennessee (2/22) ... Reached base safely five times and scored three runs against St. Mary’s (2/28) ... Drove in three runs against Sam Houston State (2/28) and North Dakota (3/8) ... 2008: Conway played in 28 games with 18 starts as a freshman, hitting .297, scoring 20 runs and driving in seven … Scored two runs in each of the first three games of his career … Went 3-for-5 with two runs and two stolen bases against Texas-Arlington (2/23) … Was a perfect 8-for-8 on the base paths … Had another three-hit day versus Saint Louis (4/23) … Totaled six multiple-hit games in all … Scored two runs on six occasions … Drew 10 walks to build his on-base percentage to .379 … Had two separate five-game hitting streaks … Played for the MINK League’s Chillicothe (Mo.) Mudcats in the summer, hitting .302 in 32 games, slugging .443 and swiping 18 bases in 19 tries.

Background: Aaron Conway was a four-year letterwinner for Darrell Butler at Triad High School, where he hit .431 and stole 27 bases as a senior … Conway added 22 RBIs, four homers, five doubles, eight triples and scored 44 runs as a senior in just 32 games … Also an all-state soccer player, Conway’s teams were regional champions in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and won a section championship his junior year.
