Missouri State junior-to-be Aaron Meade has earned a spot in the Cape Cod League Under Armour All-Star Game scheduled for Thursday, July 23 at Boston’s Fenway Park. First pitch is 7 p.m. Eastern.

A starting pitcher for the Harwich (Mass.) Mariners of the nation’s most prestigious collegiate summer baseball league and pitching for the east division in the all-star game, the southpaw from Kansas City is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in five starts this summer, pitching 28 innings and striking out 36 while yielding 23 hits and 12 walks.

Meade completed his sophomore season at MSU with a 9-2 record and 3.39 ERA on the way to first-team all-MVC accolades. He struck out 89 batters in 90.1 innings and picked up a save in his only relief appearance at Oregon State.

A draft-eligible sophomore, Meade was selected in the 28th round of June’s draft by the New York Yankees. He has the option to return to Missouri State for his junior season or sign with New York by August 17.

This is the second consecutive season a Missouri State pitcher has been a Cape Cod All-Star. Last summer, Buddy Baumann was the winning pitcher for the East before compiling an 11-1 record and MVC Pitcher of the Year honors at Missouri State as a junior in 2009.
